Bear Down with Pride! The spirit of Wildcats
UA Athletics Fans Rally on GameDay
You can hike Sabino Canyon by day, dine downtown that evening, and sip the night away under a desert sky swimming with stars. But you won’t fully feel the soul of Tucson until you’ve cheered amid 15,000 basketball fans or 56,000 football fans at a University of Arizona basketball, football, or baseball game. Tucson is Wildcat Country, a college town where teams "Bear Down" and fans bleed red and blue.

In Tucson, football fans line the streets for the team’s Wildcat Walk to the Arizona Stadium and, for both football and basketball, UA students turn out by the thousands to form the Zona Zoo—the biggest, loudest, most spirited student section in the entire Pac-12. And when they unfurl the giant University of Arizona “A” over their heads mid-game, the roar will shake you to your bones.
Arizona Wildcats Basketball Video: Sean Rooks Highlights
The UA Basketball season kicks off every year with the highly anticipated "Red vs. Blue" game -- ask any Wildcat fan and they'll tell you this is way more than a scrimmage, it's a long-awaited first taste of basketball for a hoops-crazy town. The UA proudly claims one of the winningest basketball programs in NCAA history and has the banners to back it up, including four Final Four appearances and a National Championship win in 1997 under legendary coach Lute Olson. Today, coach Sean Miller's tough-as-nails program puts forth one of the most feared teams in the nation and looks to intimidate opponents with an high-octane offense and a lights-out defense, all the way through March.

Tucson Sun Link Streetcar
Get anywhere near the UA on a home-game day and there’s no question Tucson is truly a college town. Tens of thousands of fans, from across the city and around the state, descend on campus.
The Sun Link Streetcar makes it easier to enjoy more of the UA and downtown area with every game. Arrive a little early and, with a short walk to one of campus streetcar stops, zip out for a drink on the Historic Fourth Avenue or a quick bite downtown or at the Mercado, and then zip back for the game: No extra parking means no extra stress.
